The 2019 Chevrolet Tahoe

The 2019 Chevrolet Tahoe is among the most capable SUVs available in the market. It is versatile, powerful and roomy. This vehicle is manufactured on a strong, truck-like frame. This means that it is very different from a crossover SUV that is based on a sedan. The strength of the new Tahoe reminds me of WWE’s Mark Henry. It can tow up to 8,600 pounds although it comes at the cost of some fuel efficiency and the comfort of a crossover. The Tahoe is perfect when dealing with trailers, boats and all other toys you can think of. This vehicle offers the perfect blend of new-age features that are complemented by an old-school mentality. This reliable workhorse is still as rugged a Texas cowboy and it can be dressed down or up depending on the situation.

1

What drives it?

The 2019 Chevy Tahoe is offered with two V8 engines. Most of the trim levels are driven by a 355 hp 5.3-liter V8 engine that improves power and fuel economy. It has high-tech fuel injection and a relatively smooth 6-speed automatic transmission. You will get a 6.2-liter V8 engine that delivers 420 horsepower if you choose the Performance Package of the RST special edition. The Tahoe can tow 8,400 pounds with its 4-wheel-drive models, while the rear-drive models can tow up to 8,600 pounds.

2

What does it look like?

The exterior of this Chevy looks more SUV-like than most SUVs. It is exactly what many people expect a traditional SUV to look like. It is big, bold and blocky just like Johnny Bravo. We can’t get enough of the new LED daytime running lights, sculpted flanks, and sharp-edged styling. The Tahoe has a wide grille that matches with the headlights, and as a result, it has a broader appearance when compared to its sibling, the GMC Yukon. This vehicle adds power running boards that are aimed at shorter drivers. You will notice that there are more aggressive aesthetics on Tahoe’s RST models, they include 22-inch wheels, a black grille, bow-tie badges, and mirror caps.

3

Which trims are available?

The new Tahoe is offered in three trim levels: the high-end Premier, LT, and the base LS. The premier comes with numerous luxury features and several optional upgrades. The LT offers comfort for days, and it can be customized thanks to its many option packages. The base LS trim is offered with an infotainment system with many features, numerous practical features, but few creature comforts.

4

What are the advantages and disadvantages of this vehicle?

We love that the 2019 Chevrolet Tahoe has a quiet and nicely trimmed cabin, a seating capacity of nine people, an optional 6.2-liter V8 and an impressive towing capacity. However, it is difficult to maneuver in tight spaces. It has a slow engine and sluggish brake responses. It is also difficult to load items because the high trunk floor decreases the vehicle’s cargo space.

5

Is this vehicle for me?

The Chevrolet Tahoe is the vehicle for you if you are looking for a 3-row SUV that is big and bold. It is for people who want the best of both worlds; giving you the latest safety and tech features while still offering a lot of power. You will also enjoy variety with the cheaper Tahoe Custom (a 2-row/5-passenger variant) and the stronger and bigger 6.2-liter V8 model. If you are looking for the above characteristics, then it will be a match made in heaven just like Jay Z and Beyonce.

6

Who should avoid this vehicle?

The Ford Expedition, which has two less cylinders, offers a tow more than the 2019 Chevrolet Tahoe. The Expedition is also more spacious. Alternatively, you can choose the Chevy Suburban if you need extra cargo room. We also recommend the Traverse if you need a heavy-duty chassis or you will not be towing heavy loads. The Traverse is also cheaper, easier to drive and more efficient.
