The 2019 BMW X7 review

BMW is well known for its driving dynamics, and it hasn’t gone wrong with the new X7. This three-row SUV is now the biggest vehicle in the lineup of the company. The 2019 BMW X7 can carry seven or six passengers. Have you ever watched The Under Taker make an entrance in WWE? Well, that’s exactly what the X7 is doing in the segment of full-size family vehicles. Nobody can ignore the big, bad and brave X7, not even its rivals! This is obviously BMW’s best SUV thanks to its high-quality craftsmanship, beautiful styling, numerous premium amenities and impeccable luxury. This car is a true 7-seater that is served in three rows, this, unlike the X5 that is really a 5+2.

Which features stand out?

On the outside, the X7 comes with chrome highlights, trapezoidal bumpers, light-alloy wheels, a redesigned beltline, prominent wheel arches as well as a muscular front end with slim twin headlights and a large kidney grille. Inside, it has a lot of premium materials like polished aluminum accents and leather covered seats. It has a romantic mood that will make you want to sing Marvin Gaye’s Sexual Healing to your girlfriend. This is thanks to its ambient and contour lighting. This mood reminds me of a bedroom with nice scented candles and lingerie on the floor, do you see where I am going with that thought? The instrument cluster screen (12.3-inch) and touchscreen information display are user-friendly and easy on the eyes. You will enjoy excellent visibility thanks to the X7’s high seating position. The cabin has an airy and open feel because of the panoramic roof. This car also offers plenty of headroom and legroom.

Which cars will it compete against?

When it hits the showrooms, the BMW X7 will face off against SUVs like Cadillac Escalade, Range Rover, and the Mercedes-Benz GLS. The X7 might have arrived a little late to the SUV party in the U.S., but we can confirm that the German manufacturer has finally found its answer to Range Rover because the X7 offers pure luxury and you can drive almost anywhere. If the other SUVs represent an uppercut, then the X7 has to be a wicked Muhammad Ali jab.

What drives the X7?

The BMW X7 will be powered by different engines that include an eight, six and a possible 12-cylinder. Expect a 6.6-litre twin-turbo V12 petrol engine that delivers 609hp in rapid X60i models or even a 3.0-litre turbo diesel. The user also has the option of going with a 4.4-litre twin-turbo V8 as well as a combination of a powerful electric motor and a four-cylinder petrol engine found in the hybrid iX7. You’ll choose the engine of your choice, but you’ll also enjoy a standard automatic gearbox and four-wheel drive.

How much does it cost?

We expect the 2019 BMW X7 six-cylinder diesel model to have a starting price of approximately £85,000. You’ll spend around £100,000 for the high-end petrol V8s. In November 2018, it will be presented to the public at the LA motor show. It will hit the market in early 2019.

What driving experience does it offer?

Well, it is not a playful car, but it has better cornering and steering thanks to its rear-focused all-wheel drive. The X7 can handle off-road terrains as good as Serena Williams handles a racket. There is no terrain mode for snow, but it offers rock, gravel and sand modes. It comes with rear axle lock and robust skid pads as part of its off-road package. A limited-slip differential and active anti-roll bars are optional. It will come with a driver assist and a safety package that will have features that accelerate, steer and brake. You don’t need to worry about drifting out of your lane because the vehicle offers vibrating steering that warns you when you enter a different lane.
