The STARLINK system includes Android Auto, Pandora, Apple CarPlay and Aha smartphone integration, Bluetooth streaming, iHeartRadio, Yelp and Magellan navigation as well as SiriusXM Satellite Radio and Travel Link. It also includes an AM/FM/CD player, HD Radio with iTunes, a USB port/iPod and hands-free phone connectivity. The top three trims also come with 4G LTE WiFi capability.

6

Can eight people fit in the new Subaru Ascent?

The two base trims have room for eight. They come equipped with a bench seat in the second row. The Premium can be fitted with captain's chairs in the second row, which would make it a seven-passenger SUV. The Limited can be either a seven- or eight-passenger SUV. The Touring is strictly a seven-passenger SUV. It only comes with captain's chairs in the second row. The new Ascent will be plenty roomy for passengers to sit quite comfortably. It is larger than similar mid-size SUVs. Also, this thing has 19 cupholders, so there's no need to worry about where all those drink bottles and sippy cups will go.

If that's not enough room, the roof rack can be loaded down with up to 176 pounds of cargo.

8

Will the Ascent be equipped with the latest safety technology?

Yes, it will. All trims will come with Subaru's EyeSight Driver Assist Technology. That includes lane keep assist, lane departure and sway warning, adaptive cruise control, and pre-collision braking. 4-wheel Anti-lock Brakes, Vehicle Dynamics Control, Brake Assist, a high-resolution rear-vision camera and a Brake Override System are also standard in all trims. The top three trims come with Blind-spot Detection with Lane Change Assist and Rear Cross-traffic Alert systems.

9

How much can the Ascent tow?

The top three trims can tow up to 5,000 pounds. The base trim can tow 2,000 pounds.

10

What size engine will the new Ascent have?

Subaru has equipped the new Ascent with a 2.4-L DOHC turbocharged engine that makes 260 hp and 277 lb-ft of torque.

11

Are there SUVs out now that are as good as or better than the new Subaru As-cent?

That's hard to answer since the Ascent is so new; however, early opinions are leaning toward no. This seems to be about the best mid-size SUV in its class. It can be ordered now, by the way, for delivery in July or August.
