2020 Cadillac XT6

The XT6 is the latest member of the GM luxury line; it takes its place between the Escalade and the XT5. This much-anticipated baby is a 3-row crossover that boasts of having a striking styling, two unique trim levels, and numerous driver assists features. Global Cadillac executive director, Andrew Smith, has expressed his admiration for this “true” Cadillac model. He describes the two trims as unique, aggressive and sophisticated. Depending on preference, you can choose between the Sport and Premium Luxury trims. The new baby is 68.9 inches tall, 77.3 inches wide and 198.8 inches overall. In addition to this, the wheelbase has a measurement of 112.7 inches. The unique look of this model follows Cadillac’s traditional theme which demands that the shield-shaped grille should be flanked by vertical lighting elements; it also based on the XT5’s character lines and sharp edges. If the XT6 were a president, then it would be Donald Trump. It would boast that it got its cool look by closing the “best deal ever” with its manufacturers.

When will it be available and how much will it cost?

Information about the pricing of the new Cadillac XT6 is as scarce as good wine, but we know that you can make an order to purchase it this spring. We expect that most models will have a price that ranges between $60,000 and $50,000. The official pricing and fuel economy information will be made public when the on-sale date gets closer.

Why is there a fuss about the available driver assist features?

This crossover offers numerous driver assist features; the standard ones include: lane keep assist, a following distance indicator, forward collision alert, rear cross-traffic alert, blind spot monitoring that works together with lane change alert, automatic emergency braking as well as park assist for the front and rear. Also standard is a safety alert seat which will quickly caution you when there is an approaching object. The optional features include: reverse automatic braking, a surround-view camera, adaptive cruise control, hitch guidance for towing, night vision, a heads-up display, and automatic parking assist.

So what makes these trims special?

Well, the trims must have come from Jupiter because you won’t find them anywhere else in the world. The Premium Luxury trim will stand out for its bright finish on the optional roof rails, window moldings, and the grille. This trim boasts of having red lenses on the rear taillamps, 20-inch wheels as well as unique rear and front fascias. You will get a more aggressive look if you choose to buy the Sport model; it has black roof rails and moldings, in addition to this, there is a black grille that comes with a distinctive pattern that is inspired by the V-Series. The Sport model boasts of optional 21-inch rims, standard 20-inch wheels as well as clear-lens taillamps on the rear and front fascias. These trims also offer very different cabins; for instance, you will get a performance-oriented carbon fiber trim when you choose the Sport model. On the other hand, exotic wood accents are present in the Premium Luxury trim. Both trims offer standard 14-speaker sound systems and heated steering wheels. The new XT6 also has heated second-row outboard seats, in-vehicle air ionizer, semi-aniline premium leather upholstery as well as ventilated/ heated automatic front seats.

What is hidden under the XT6’s hood?

The two trim levels are powered by a 3.6-liter V6 engine that has 271 lb-ft of torque and 310 horsepower. The transversely mounted engine works together with a 9-speed automatic transmission. The Sport trim can only be driven with AWD, while the Premium Luxury trim comes with both all-wheel drive and front-wheel drive.

What is our verdict about the new XT6?

Cadillac has lacked a midsize three-row crossover for some time now and therefore; it was only right that they made the new XT6. We love that Cadillac has decided to fill it with all the tech features they could find. We haven’t driven it, but the automaker has promised that it will come with world-class comfort and refinement. This vehicle will be competing in the most popular class in the market. We think that the new XT6 is a worthy competitor that will be able to offer a lot in a crowded segment that includes vehicles like the Mercedes-Benz GLE-Class, Audi Q7, BMW X5, Lexus RX, Acura MDX, and the new Lincoln Aviator.
