We bet that everyone, or at least most of us have had old lovers that they really can't seem to get over. While it may initially seem like a problem, you might want to think about it again. You might be wondering where we're headed with this love agenda. Well, this is it, today we want to talk about a car that almost everyone is quite familiar with. Because it sticks in your mind no matter how hard you try to let it go, behold, the Ford Taurus. This is the same car you've seen in the movies as the police interceptor sedan. Rings a bell? As nature has it, the car has gotten a bit too old. That has to be the reason that the Taurus got a brand new version for 2018. Come along as we check out this new ride to determine whether the latest Taurus from the American manufacturer gets the same amount of success as its predecessor.
How good is the 2018 Taurus's interior? ?
The old Taurus came along and conquered the hearts of many American folks with its family sedan popularity. History has a way of repeating itself, and it does so with the new Taurus. All trims of this new sedan share a fantastic interior. The new car features driver-oriented controls that are well distributed throughout the cabin, and it also has plenty of cargo space. Perhaps the only thing that is going to ruin the party is the limited head and leg room both in the front and back. What it lacks in space, the Taurus makes up for it with an outstanding sitting position for the driver; it is quite upright, just like that of an SUV.
What standard equipment does the 2018 Taurus carry?
Some of the standard equipment on the new Ford Taurus include a power seat for the driver, alloy wheels, a six-speaker system, tilt and telescoping controls and finally full power accessories. The higher trim levels offer cooler features such as the Sync and MyFord Touch interface, dual zone climatic control, bigger wheels, a rear view camera and rear parking sensors. In addition to this, there are massaging front seats, an improved navigation system, and a 12-speaker Sony audio system.
How good is the 2018 Taurus's exterior ?
The new exterior design is reminiscent of the old Taurus. Although it generally carries the same look, the grille, and the front fascia is now restyled to look a little sharper. The entire vehicle now has a new blockish look that is expected to appeal to the younger generation as it is just as elegant as it is modern and futuristic. As for the lights, the standard headlamps are LED while the HID lights are reserved for higher trims.
What is under the hood?
The base engine that is underneath the hood of the new Taurus is a 3.5 liter V6 that makes 288 horsepower; it does a pretty good job at daily driving when paired with a 6-speed automatic. Next, is a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder that pumps out 240 ponies. The turbocharged four costs $995 more, but it might not please most of us since it offers less power. This engine is also mated to an automatic six-speed.
Which trims are available?
The lowest trim on the new Taurus is the SE which cost s $27,345. It features fabric upholstery, a rearview camera, FordSync technology with Bluetooth and a 4.2-inch screen, 18-inch wheels and adjustable power front seats. Next, is the SEL followed by the Limited and finally the SHO which goes for $42,520. The uppermost trim is fully loaded with features like a heated steering wheel and blind-spot monitors.
